Vascular Bulge Visualization

Vascular bulge visualization is the imaging and graphical representation of localized enlargements in blood vessels, particularly cerebral aneurysms, to make abnormal vascular geometry easier to assess. It converts angiographic or other vessel-imaging data into two- or three-dimensional views that distinguish a bulge from surrounding vessel walls and reveal its location, shape, and connection to the parent vessel. In neuroscience, this visualization supports anatomical interpretation, communication of findings, treatment planning, and monitoring of vascular abnormalities over time. By clarifying complex cerebrovascular structures, it helps researchers and clinicians relate vessel morphology to neurological risk and improve the analysis of brain blood-flow disorders.

Tools used for visualizing vascular regeneration require methods for contrasting the vascular trees. This film demonstrated a delicate injection technique used to achieve optimal contrasting of the vascular trees and illustrate the potential benefits resulting from a detailed analysis of the resulting specimen using µCT and histological serial sections.

The interrenal gland in zebrafish is the teleostean counterpart of the mammalian adrenal gland. This protocol introduces how to perform the 3-β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (Δ5-4 isomerase; 3β-Hsd) enzymatic activity assay, which detects differentiated steroidogenic cells in the developing zebrafish.
