Biography

Jianglin Fan is Professor and Chairman of Molecular Pathology at University of Yamanashi School of Medicine, Yamanashi, Japan. He received his MD degree at Yanbian University School of Medicine, China and Ph.D. degree at Saga University, Japan. He got his postdoctoral training at Gladstone Institute, University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Fan has been working on atherosclerosis for more than 30 years and his research interests include elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of atherosclerosis, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, and inflammation. One of his major achievements was to develop novel transgenic and knockout rabbit models for the study of cardiovascular disease. His work has led to more than 180 publications in prestigious peer-review journals.
