Hemali earned her Master’s in Microbiology from Mithibai College, Mumbai University. Eager to expand her knowledge in cancer biology, she undertook a research traineeship at Tata Memorial- ACTREC, where she studied the role of LCN-2 in colon cancer migration and invasion. This experience broadened her understanding of cancer research and sparked her passion for scientific communication. As an Editor at JoVE, she enjoys being at the forefront of new research without working in the lab. Her role allows her to uncover the stories behind scientific breakthroughs and present them in a way that sparks curiosity beyond research papers, ensuring discoveries reach those who can apply and build upon them. Beyond work, she enjoys doodling and watching Netflix, balancing science with creativity.
