Professor Liang Wang is a tenured full professor and distinguished medical researcher at Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital — a top-tier national-level hospital affiliated with South China University of Technology and Southern Medical University, China. He also holds adjunct research fellow positions at the University of Queensland and the University of Western Australia, and serves as an adjunct associate professor at Edith Cowan University.His research focuses on advancing disease diagnosis through interdisciplinary approaches, integrating intelligent medicine, analytical chemistry, microbiology, and spectroscopy. Professor Wang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers as first or corresponding author in high-impact journals such as The Lancet Microbe, npj Digital Medicine, Drug Resistance Updates, TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, and Journal of Advanced Research.He has successfully led five national-level research projects, including one under the National Science and Technology Major Project. Professor Wang is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences, including ICBBB (Japan, 2026), EuroCarb (Poland, 2025), CHRO (Australia, 2024), and VAAM (Germany, 2023).He currently serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Lead Editor of Journal of Applied Microbiology, Associate Editor of Journal of Translational Medicine, and Editor of Distinction for BMC Microbiology (2025). His honors include the Guangdong Special Support Program for High-Level Talents (2026), the Rising Star Award in Measurement Science from the American Chemical Society (2025), the JoVE Researcher Innovation Award (2025), the Australia-China Helicobacter Research Fellowship (2017), and repeated inclusion in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list (2024, 2025).
