Luisa Tacca holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where she worked on RNA biology and CRISPR technologies under advisors Jamie Cate and Stephen Floor. After graduating, she spent a few years as the Lead Scientist at Acrigen Biosciences in Berkeley, developing novel CRISPR tools and contributing to multiple patents. She moved back to Brazil and coordinated a nationwide metagenomics project as a post-doc at EMBRAPA. Outside the lab, she enjoys training Brazilian jiu-jitsu and spending time with family and friends. luisa.tacca@jove.com
