Taha Elwi

Professor
Taha A. Elwi received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering from Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq, both with Highest Graduation Awards. He earned his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and Science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2011. He was recognized among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists in 2022. Dr. Elwi’s research focuses on biomedical wireless systems, wearable and implantable antennas, metamaterials, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, wireless sensor networks, and microwave biomedical applications. His interests also include artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal and image processing, and medical image analysis. He currently serves as Head of the International Applied and Theoretical Research Center (IATRC), Iraq, and has been a member of the Iraqi Scientific Research Consultant Committee since 2016. Dr. Elwi has authored more than 150 scientific publications, holds 10 patents, and serves as an editor and reviewer for several international scientific journals.
