Varsha Augustin is a doctoral graduate with expertise in preclinical research and experimental disease models. She holds an MSc in Zoology from Mangalore University and earned her PhD in Biological Sciences from Nitte (Deemed to be University), where her doctoral research examined the influence of nutritional status on the interaction between alcohol exposure and drug-induced liver injury in rodent models. During her research career, Varsha has authored several peer-reviewed publications in indexed journals and contributed to a book chapter on nutritional modeling and its implications for disease research. She has also received awards for her research presentations at international scientific conferences. Her work broadly explores drug-induced liver injury, pharmacokinetics, and the role of nutritional status in modulating drug toxicity. At the Nitte University Centre for Animal Research and Experimentation (NUCARE), she gained extensive experience in preclinical research methodologies and contributed to multiple efficacy and toxicology studies involving rodent models. Beyond research, Varsha is a passionate visual artist with interests in scientific illustration, painting, digital art, and clay sculpting.
