Prof. Wenfu Ma is Associate Dean and a doctoral supervisor at the School of Life Sciences, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. in 2011 from the Biomedical Research Institute at Fudan University. From 2011 to 2018, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute with Dr. Jonathan Goldberg. Prof. Ma’s research focuses on elucidating the therapeutic mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating major diseases and developing innovative TCM-based drugs. His lab currently emphasizes TCM strategies for infectious disease prevention and understanding the role of gut microbiota in TCM metabolism. Since 2018, he has served as a Distinguished Professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. His work has been published in top journals including PNAS, eLife, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, and the Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
