Psychologist Teacher Consultation

Psychologist-teacher consultation is a collaborative process in which a psychologist and teacher work together to understand and address a student’s behavioral or learning needs. The process typically involves sharing observations, identifying patterns and contributing conditions, setting measurable goals, and selecting classroom strategies that can be monitored and adjusted over time. In behavior-focused practice, consultation connects psychological assessment with everyday educational settings, helping teachers implement consistent supports and evaluate student responses. It can strengthen communication between professionals, promote data-informed decision-making, and guide interventions that improve classroom participation, social behavior, and learning outcomes.
