Cell Loading

Cell loading is the process of introducing molecules, particles, or other materials into living cells for measurement, manipulation, or treatment. Depending on the cargo and cell type, loading can occur through membrane-permeabilization methods, such as electroporation, or biological processes including endocytosis, which brings extracellular material into the cell in vesicles. In biology, cell loading supports fluorescent labeling, delivery of nucleic acids or drugs, intracellular assays, and studies of cellular transport and function. Loading efficiency, cell viability, cargo localization, and retention are critical outcomes when optimizing the method for research or therapeutic applications.

Impact Loading

2024

Impact loading occurs when a moving object collides with a stationary structure, such as a rod with a uniform cross-sectional area fixed at one end. Under these conditions, the rod absorbs the kinetic energy from the striking object, leading to deformation and subsequent stress development. As the rod returns to its original position and reaches maximum stress, the absorbed energy, initially manifested as kinetic energy, transforms entirely into strain energy. In cases of elastic deformation,...
