Posterior Tilt Measurement

Posterior tilt measurement is the quantitative assessment of how far an anatomical structure, most commonly the pelvis, rotates backward relative to a defined reference position. Clinicians measure this alignment using surface landmarks and tools such as an inclinometer, goniometer, or imaging-based analysis, depending on the clinical setting and required precision. The result helps characterize posture, spinal and pelvic alignment, movement patterns, and changes during physical examination or rehabilitation. In medicine and biomechanics, consistent posterior tilt measurements support assessment of musculoskeletal dysfunction, treatment planning, monitoring of therapeutic progress, and comparison of movement across patients or repeated evaluations.

Generation of Tilted Amygdala Slices from a Mouse Brain

2025

The video demonstrates the generation of tilted amygdala slices from a mouse brain. The brain is positioned at an angle on the vibratome specimen stage to obtain slices containing the amygdala and axons from the medial prefrontal cortex that form synaptic connections with the amygdala. The brain slices are maintained at the physiological temperature to preserve the tissue for further experiments.

Tilt Testing with Combined Lower Body Negative Pressure: a "Gold Standard" for Measuring Orthostatic Tolerance

We describe a "gold standard" for evaluating orthostatic tolerance (OT) using tilt testing with combined lower body negative pressure (LBNP). This can be combined with non-invasive evaluations of cardiovascular reflex control. Normal and abnormal responses are defined.

This article describes a standard method to get a three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of biological macromolecules using negative staining electron microscopy (EM). In this protocol, we explain how to get the 3D structure of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae exosome complex at medium resolution using the random conical tilt reconstruction method (RCT).

This manuscript presents a comprehensive protocol to evaluate the three-dimensional (3D) movement of maxillary posterior teeth with clear aligners using digital model superimposition, an invaluable tool in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Isolating Short Posterior Ciliary Arteries: A Protocol to Excise Intact Short Posterior Ciliary Microvessels from Porcine Eye

2025

This video describes the protocol to isolate the short posterior ciliary arteries from the porcine eye. The isolated short posterior arteries are a suitable source for elucidating the molecular insights and protein profiles of the ocular blood vessels.
