Neuronavigation Mri Integration

Neuronavigation MRI integration combines neuronavigation, a computer-assisted system for localizing brain structures, with magnetic resonance imaging to support precise neurosurgical planning and guidance. Preoperative MRI scans are processed into three-dimensional anatomical maps and registered to the patient’s position, allowing tracked instruments to be displayed relative to tumors, vessels, functional regions, and other targets. This image-guided approach helps surgeons plan trajectories, identify critical anatomy, and monitor access during procedures such as tumor biopsy, lesion resection, and deep brain stimulation. Its use in neuroscience improves spatial accuracy while supporting safer, more individualized interventions and advancing research on brain structure and function.

This study is designed to test the hypothesis that neuronavigational system-guided transcranial magnetic stimulation has higher accuracy for targeting the intended target as demonstrated by eliciting a greater degree of virtual aphasia in healthy subjects, measured by delay in reaction time to picture naming.
