Gängige Materialien für chemisch beständige Handschuhe gehören Butyl-Kautschuk, Latex, Neopren, Nitrilkautschuk, Polyethylen, Polyvinylalkohol und Polyvinylchlorid. Die Wahl des geeigneten Materials kann oft leicht durch erfolgen Beratung eine chemische Kompatibilitätstabelle (Ansell Occupational Healthcare, 2008). Kein Material ist 100 % resistent gegen Chemikalien. Eine Chemikalie durchdringt alle Materialien, nur mit unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten. Wenn ein Handschuh chemische Kompatibilität Diagramm Beratung, die Durchbruchzeit hinzuweisen. Wenn Sie hitzebeständige Handschuhe wählen, sicherzustellen, dass die Temperatur, die Sie mit Arbeiten innerhalb der Reichweite der Handschuhe.</li>

Persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA) trägt dazu bei, Menschen vor Gefahren zu schützen. Dazu gehören die richtige Laborkleidung sowie Gegenstände wie Handschuhe, Schutzbrillen, Gesichtsschutzschilde und Laborkittel. Welche PSA Sie tragen, hängt von der jeweiligen Gefährdung ab. Darüber hinaus ist eine spezielle Ausrüstung für Situationen wie extreme Kälte, extreme Hitze und Radioaktivität erforderlich. In diesem Video zeigen wir Ihnen, wie Sie sich für das Labor kleiden, sowie einige spezielle PSA. Tragen Sie beim Betreten eines Labors die Mindestausstattung an PSA. Dazu gehören ein langärmeliges Hemd, eine lange Hose und geschlossene Schuhe. Tragen Sie einen schwer entflammbaren Laborkittel, der gut sitzt und zugeknöpft ist, da lose Mäntel Gefahr laufen, sich an Gegenständen zu verfangen. Wenn Sie weiteren Schutz vor Spritzern oder Hitze benötigen, tragen Sie eine Gummischürze. Tragen Sie im Labor immer eine Schutzbrille. Diese sollten über einen Seitenschutz verfügen, stoßfest sein und Schutz vor umherfliegenden Partikeln und Chemikalienspritzern bieten. Eine verschreibungspflichtige Brille bietet diesen Schutz nicht, daher sollte auch eine Schutzbrille getragen werden. Um zu verhindern, dass Sie sich an einem Gegenstand verfangen, legen Sie alle baumelnden Schmuckstücke wie Ohrringe ab und binden Sie lange Haare zurück. Wenn Sie mit Substanzen arbeiten, die feine Partikel in der Luft abgeben, verwenden Sie eine Atemschutzmaske, um Ihre Lunge zu schützen.
