Cell Dissociation Enzymes

Cell dissociation enzymes are biological reagents that separate cells from one another or from extracellular matrices, enabling the study and manipulation of intact cell populations. They work by hydrolyzing proteins responsible for cell adhesion and tissue structure, with enzymes such as trypsin, collagenase, and dispase selected according to tissue composition and the desired level of cell-surface preservation. In biochemistry, enzymatic dissociation supports primary cell isolation, cell culture, tissue processing, and preparation of single-cell suspensions for flow cytometry or molecular analysis. Carefully controlled enzyme concentration, exposure time, and temperature can improve cell yield while minimizing damage to membrane proteins and cellular viability.
