Epp Component Oscillation

EPP component oscillation describes rhythmic variation in an end-plate potential, the postsynaptic voltage change produced when a motor neuron communicates with a muscle fiber at the neuromuscular junction. It arises as acetylcholine released from the nerve terminal activates nicotinic receptors on the muscle membrane, generating depolarization that rises and decays as transmitter is removed and ion channels return toward their resting state; repeated neural activity can produce oscillatory patterns. Studying these changes helps characterize synaptic transmission, neuromuscular excitability, and the effects of pharmacological or pathological disruption, supporting research into muscle function and neurological disease.

Begin with a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, wearing a gamma therapy stimulation device. The device consists of an eye-set and headphones.Using the controller, activate the device to deliver auditory and visual stimulation. The visual component emits flickering light at a gamma frequency, while the auditory component produces synchronized sound pulses.Gamma oscillations are brain waves generated by synchronized neuronal firing, crucial for cognition and memory. In AD, these...

In Vitro Recording of Theta Oscillations in the Mouse Hippocampus

2025

This video demonstrates the recording of rhythmic neuronal network activity, also known as theta oscillations, in an isolated hippocampus. Electrodes are inserted into various layers and spatial positions to detect and analyze theta oscillations. This shows the unique neuronal compositions and the connectivity of the neuronal network across different layers of the hippocampus.

Forced Oscillations

When an oscillator is forced with a periodic driving force, the motion may seem chaotic. The motions of such oscillators are known as transients. After the transients die out, the oscillator reaches a steady state, where the motion is periodic, and the displacement is determined. Using the equations of force and motion, the amplitude of the driven oscillator is obtained. It depends on the natural and driving frequency. In the equation for amplitude, when the driving frequency is much smaller...

Oscillations In An LC Circuit

2026

An idealized LC circuit of zero resistance can oscillate without any source of emf by shifting the energy stored in the circuit between the electric and magnetic fields. In such an LC circuit, if the capacitor contains a charge q before the switch is closed, then all the energy of the circuit is initially stored in the electric field of the capacitor. This energy is given by When the switch is closed, the capacitor begins to discharge, producing a current in the circuit. The current, in turn,...
