Interleukin 7 Receptor

Interleukin 7 receptor (IL-7R) is a cell-surface cytokine receptor that enables cells to respond to interleukin-7, a signal essential for lymphocyte development, survival, and homeostasis. It is formed by the IL-7 receptor alpha chain, CD127, and the common gamma chain, CD132; IL-7 binding activates associated JAK1 and JAK3 kinases, which stimulate STAT5-dependent gene expression. In biology, studying IL-7R helps explain T-cell development, immune-cell maintenance, and cytokine signaling. Its expression and activity are also examined in immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, cancer, and approaches to immune-cell expansion.

This video demonstrates a procedure of fecal microbiota transplantation in an interleukin-10 deficient mouse with colon inflammation. Colonized fecal microbes in the gut release secondary metabolites, eliciting anti-inflammatory cytokine release and reducing colon inflammation.

An Ex Vivo Technique to Manufacture Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cells

2025

This video demonstrates a technique to manufacture chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells ex vivo. Human T cells are incubated with magnetic beads coated with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies, along with a medium supplemented with interleukin-2 (IL-2), leading to T cell activation and proliferation. Transgenic lentiviral vectors are introduced, allowing the transgenic RNA to integrate into the host genome and express the transgene. This results in the transduced T cells expressing chimeric...

The sensitivity gain inherent to ultrahigh field magnetic resonance holds promise for high spatial resolution imaging of the heart. Here, we describe a protocol customized for functional cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) at 7 Tesla using an advanced multi-channel radio-frequency coil, magnetic field shimming and a triggering concept.

Caspase-3/7 Assay: A Luminescence-Based Assay to Quantify Apoptosis by Measuring Caspase-3/7 Activities in Frog Skin Explants

2025

This video describes an in vitro Caspase-3/7 luminescent assay to quantify cell death or apoptosis. The assay measures luminescence produced following caspase-3/7 cleavage of a pro-luminescent DEVD substrate. The luminescence generated is proportional to caspase-3/7 activity.
