Tumor Growth Inhibition

Tumor Growth Inhibition is the reduction or prevention of tumor expansion through changes that limit cancer cell survival, proliferation, or tissue development. In biology, it can result from cell-cycle arrest, induction of programmed cell death, disruption of nutrient supply, or activation of protective immune responses. Researchers assess tumor growth inhibition by measuring changes in tumor size, growth rate, or viable cell number after genetic, chemical, or biological intervention. These measurements help compare treatment efficacy, identify mechanisms of resistance, and guide the development of therapies in cancer research.
