Thread-embedding Therapy

Thread-embedding therapy is a minimally invasive treatment that places absorbable medical threads into selected subcutaneous sites, often acupuncture points, to provide sustained local stimulation after the procedure. As the material gradually degrades, the implanted thread can maintain mechanical input to nearby sensory nerves and connective tissue, potentially influencing nociceptive signaling and downstream nervous-system responses over a longer period than brief manual stimulation. In neuroscience, this approach is studied as a sustained neuromodulatory strategy for pain and related disorders, while research evaluates its biological mechanisms, safety, and clinical effectiveness. Its relevance lies in linking peripheral tissue stimulation with persistent changes in sensory processing.

Inducing Ischemic Stroke via Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion Using a Thread Bolt

2025

This video demonstrates the process of inducing ischemic stroke in a rat model by occluding the middle cerebral artery (MCA) using a thread bolt. The procedure involves ligating the carotid arteries, inserting a thread bolt into the external carotid artery, and blocking blood flow from the MCA to the brain, leading to neuronal death and mimicking an ischemic stroke.

This article demonstrates the standardized operation process of Zhuang medicine line moxibustion in experimental animals. To achieve repeatability and accuracy of Zhuang medicine line moxibustion, we developed a simulator to maintain strength, heat, and frequency. We constructed a dysmenorrhea model for experimental verification in rats with cold coagulation syndrome.
