“Dr. Apoorva Joshi holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. Her doctoral research focused on the role of lipid bodies in lipid accumulation and mobilization in Yarrowia species, with particular emphasis on isolating lipid bodies and characterizing their associated lipids and proteins to understand lipid storage and turnover. Her research explored the temporal dynamics and lipid composition of these organelles in two oleaginous yeasts, Yarrowia lipolytica and Yarrowia bubula, using techniques including microscopy and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Her work contributes to a better understanding of how strain-specific characteristics and growth temperature influence lipid body dynamics and lipid metabolism. Passionate about making science clear, accessible, and engaging, Dr. Joshi is committed to effective scientific communication and knowledge sharing to support research and foster collaboration within the scientific community. Outside her research interests, she enjoys playing the violin, learning yoga, exploring nature, and travelling, particularly to destinations surrounded by natural landscapes. apoorva.joshi@jove.com “
