Tao received his Ph.D. in Sports Medicine from Waseda University in Japan and a Master’s in Exercise as Medicine from Loughborough University in the UK. His PhD research focused on the effects of postprandial triglycerides, glucose, and insulin on different exercise modes with different duration, intensities, and postprandial timing on young individuals. He also investigated high and low GI meals on substrate metabolism; the effect of exercise on sleeping quality; peak oxygen uptake and lipidomics on middle-aged and elderly; cardiorespiratory fitness and lifestyle-related factors with DNA methylation-based biological aging clocks. Outside of work Tao is passionate about road bike cycling, hiking mountains, and snowboarding with family and friends. zhen-tao.zhong@jove.com
