Vesicle Enrichment

Vesicle enrichment is the process of increasing the relative abundance of membrane-bound vesicles in a biological sample, enabling their biochemical analysis. It separates vesicles from soluble molecules, cells, and other particles by exploiting properties such as size, density, sedimentation behavior, or surface affinity through methods including centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, and affinity capture. Enriched vesicle preparations support the study of extracellular vesicles, intracellular organelles, membrane composition, cargo transport, and cell-to-cell communication. Because sample purity and recovery influence downstream measurements, vesicle enrichment is essential for reliable proteomic, lipidomic, and functional analyses in biochemistry and related fields.
