Wav2vec 2.0

Wav2vec 2.0 is a self-supervised deep-learning framework for learning useful speech representations from raw audio, reducing dependence on manually labeled recordings. It combines a convolutional feature encoder with a Transformer network: the encoder converts waveforms into latent features, while the Transformer models context across time. During pretraining, portions of the latent sequence are masked, and the model learns to identify the correct quantized targets among distractors using contrastive learning. Fine-tuning with transcribed examples supports tasks such as speech-to-text and speaker or acoustic analysis. In bioengineering, these capabilities can help analyze clinical or physiological speech signals, enabling data-driven study of communication and health-related phenotypes.

2018

A graphical user interface for exploring and sharing a database of optogenetically-induced vascular responses in mouse somatosensory cortex in vivo measured by 2-photon microscopy is presented. It allows browsing the data, criteria-based selection, averaging, localization of measurements within a 3D volume of vasculature and exporting the data.
