Carbon Black Suspension

Carbon black suspension is a liquid dispersion of finely divided carbon black particles, engineered to deliver the material’s pigment, conductive, or reinforcing properties in a uniform, processable form. It forms when particles are mixed into a carrier fluid and deagglomerated through shear, milling, or ultrasonic energy; dispersants and controlled viscosity can reduce particle re-aggregation and sedimentation. In engineering, stable suspensions support consistent coating, ink, polymer, and electrode processing, while particle size, solids loading, rheology, and storage stability determine handling and final performance across manufacturing workflows.

Intravascular Perfusion of Carbon Black Ink Allows Reliable Visualization of Cerebral Vessels

2013

Analysis of rodent cerebrovascular anatomy plays an important role in experimental stroke research. In this context, intravascular perfusion with colored latex has been considered as a standard tool for several years. However, this technique implies distinct technical limitations, which undermine its reproducibility. Here, we describe a simple method to visualize cerebral vessels in a reproducible manner. Injection of a mixture of two commercially available carbon black inks through the left...

Black Box Model

2024

The Black Box Model of Consumer Behavior conceptualizes the decision-making process as a "black box" where inputs (stimuli) lead to outputs (responses) without fully revealing the internal cognitive processes. It emphasizes the mystery of the consumer's mind and focuses on observable external factors and responses. The model includes external stimuli (marketing efforts, social influences), the consumer's black box (psychological factors, perception, and attitudes), and the resulting behavioral...

Detection of Black Holes

Although black holes were theoretically postulated in the 1920s, they remained outside the domain of observational astronomy until the 1970s. Their closest cousins are neutron stars, which are composed almost entirely of neutrons packed against each other, making them extremely dense. A neutron star has the same mass as the Sun but its diameter is only a few kilometers. Therefore, the escape velocity from their surface is close to the speed of light. Not until the 1960s, when the first neutron...

The Carbon Cycle

2019

Carbon is the basis of all organic matter on Earth, and is recycled through the ecosystem in two primary processes: one in which carbon is exchanged among living organisms, and one in which carbon is cycled over long periods of time through fossilized organic remains, weathering of rocks, and volcanic activity. Human activities, including increased agricultural practices and the burning of fossil fuels, has greatly affected the balance of the natural carbon cycle. Biological Carbon Cycle All...
