Cross-reactivity Hpv Types

Cross-reactivity among HPV types occurs when an immune response directed against one human papillomavirus type also recognizes antigens from a related type, an important concept in infection, immunity, and vaccine research. This recognition usually results from shared or structurally similar epitopes, particularly on viral capsid proteins, allowing antibodies or T cells generated against one type to bind or respond to another, although protection may be incomplete. Studying HPV cross-reactivity helps researchers interpret serological and diagnostic assays, assess the breadth of protection provided by HPV vaccines, and evaluate how immunity to vaccine-targeted types may influence infection with non-targeted types.

Overview The ability of a single antibody to recognize multiple structurally similar epitopes is an important immune defense strategy that enables the host to efficiently defend against many potentially threatening pathogens. However, cross-reactivity also elicits allergy symptoms against related allergens. It is increasingly important to understand the principles of cross-reactivity, as antibodies are actively being developed as therapeutic modalities for diverse diseases, including cancer.

We demonstrate a snap chip technology for performing cross-reactivity-free multiplexed sandwich immunoassays by simply snapping two slides. A snap apparatus is used for reliably transferring reagents from microarray-to-microarray. The snap chip can be used for any biochemical reactions requiring colocalization of different reagents without cross-contamination.

The video showcases the implementation of snap chip technology for cross-reactivity-free multiplexed sandwich immunoassays. The simple action of snapping two microarray slides, each containing different reagents, ensures reagent transfer without cross-contamination and helps to detect multiple proteins using sandwich immunoassay.

Here, we selectively target antibodies against a specific member of a highly conserved family of proteins by immunizing animals with their most divergent regions followed by removing cross reactive antibodies by pre-adsorption.

Source: Laboratory of Alan Lester - University of Colorado Boulder Geologic maps were first made and utilized in Europe, in the mid-to-late 18th century. Ever since, they have been an important part of geological investigations all around the world that strive to understand rock distributions on the surface of the earth, in the subsurface, and their modification through time. A modern geologic map is a data-rich representation of rocks and rock-structures in a two-dimensional plan view. The...
