Multiwell Plate Assay

A Multiwell Plate Assay is a laboratory method that measures biological, chemical, or cellular responses in multiple wells of a microplate, enabling standardized analysis of many samples at once. Each well contains a defined reaction mixture or cell population, and instruments detect signals such as absorbance, fluorescence, or luminescence produced under controlled conditions. Researchers use these assays to quantify enzyme activity, cell viability, gene expression, protein interactions, and responses to drugs or environmental treatments. Their miniaturized format reduces reagent use, supports replicates and controls, and enables high-throughput screening in biology, biotechnology, and biomedical research.
