Correa Reflexa

Correa reflexa is an Australian native shrub in the citrus family Rutaceae, recognized by its pendant, tubular flowers and aromatic foliage. In chemistry, studies of this species examine compounds in leaves and flowers by preparing extracts and separating their constituents with chromatographic methods before identifying molecular structures spectroscopically. Such phytochemical analysis can characterize volatile oils and other secondary metabolites, compare populations or plant parts, and relate chemical profiles to ecology, taxonomy, or potential biological activity. The species therefore provides a useful botanical source for connecting plant diversity with natural-products chemistry.

2019

This study describes classical hydration using the thin lipid film method for nanoliposome preparation followed by nanoparticle characterization. A 47 kDa-hydrophilic and globular protein, tarin, is successfully encapsulated as a strategy to improve stability, avoid fast clearance, and promote controlled release. The method can be adapted to hydrophobic molecules encapsulation.

This protocol outlines a method to isolate Fibro-adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) and myogenic progenitors (MPs) from rat skeletal muscle. Utilization of the rat in muscle injury models provides increased tissue availability from atrophic muscle for the analysis and a larger repertoire of validated methods to assess muscle strength and gait in free-moving animals.
