Concurrent Electrical Measurements

Concurrent Electrical Measurements are methods for acquiring two or more electrical quantities simultaneously, allowing engineers to analyze how signals, components, or systems interact over the same time interval. They use multiple sensing channels connected to a common measurement system, with synchronized sampling or triggering so voltage, current, phase, and other variables can be compared without timing ambiguity; appropriate probe placement, bandwidth, and isolation help preserve signal integrity. In engineering research and testing, these measurements reveal transient responses, power flow, feedback behavior, and failure conditions, supporting circuit characterization, control-system validation, diagnostics, and more reliable device design.

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials are inherently inhomogeneous at the nanometer scale. Nanoscale inhomogeneity of OPV materials affects performance of photovoltaic devices. In this paper, we describe a protocol for quantitative measurements of electrical and mechanical properties of OPV materials with sub-100 nm resolution.

Exosomes are microvesicular structures found within biofluids that potentially carry important disease discriminatory biomarkers. Here, a novel method is used to specifically extract exosomes and rapidly test the exosomal cargo for both RNA/protein targets following the disruption of exosomes using non-uniform electric cyclic square waves.

Electrical Penetration Graph (EPG) is a well-established technique for studying the feeding behavior of stylet-bearing insects. Here we show a new application of EPG as a non-invasive tool for the acquisition of intracellular electrophysiology recordings of sieve elements (SEs), the cells that form the phloem vasculature in plants.
