Epididymal Tubule Anastomosis

Epididymal tubule anastomosis is a microsurgical procedure that connects an epididymal tubule to the vas deferens to bypass an obstruction and restore sperm transport. Using high-magnification instruments, the surgeon identifies a sperm-containing epididymal tubule, creates a precise opening, and joins it to the vas deferens with fine sutures, allowing sperm to enter the reproductive tract while preserving delicate epididymal structures. This technique is used in treating obstructive azoospermia caused by epididymal or vasal blockage, including cases associated with prior infection, surgery, or congenital absence of the vas deferens. Surgical patency and subsequent sperm recovery can support natural conception or assisted reproductive treatment.

Proteomic analysis of any cell type is highly dependent on both purity and pre-fractionation of the starting material in order to de-complexify the sample prior to liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (MS). By using back-flushing techniques, pure spermatozoa can be obtained from rodents. Following digestion, phosphopeptides can be enriched using TiO2.
