Ivis Detection System

The IVIS Detection System is a noninvasive optical imaging platform that detects light emitted from biological samples or living organisms, enabling researchers to monitor molecular and cellular activity over time. It typically uses a highly sensitive camera to capture bioluminescent or fluorescent signals produced by reporter molecules, while software maps signal intensity and location to quantify changes in vivo. In medicine, IVIS imaging supports preclinical studies of disease progression, gene expression, tumor growth, infection, and therapeutic responses. By allowing repeated measurements in the same subject, the system can reduce the need for invasive sampling and strengthen longitudinal research findings.

Utilizing luciferase and in vivo imaging systems (IVIS) as a novel means to identify disease endpoints before clinical developments occur. IVIS has allowed us to visualize in real time the invasion of encephalitic viruses over multiple days, providing a more accurate disease model for future study. It has also allowed us to identify the potential protective features of antivirals and vaccines faster than currently utilized animal models. The capability to utilize individual animals over...

We describe an electrochemical sensor assay method for rapid bacterial detection and identification. The assay involves a sensor array functionalized with DNA oligonucleotide capture probes for ribosomal RNA (rRNA) species-specific sequences. Sandwich hybridization of target rRNA with the capture probe and a horseradish peroxidase-linked DNA oligonucleotide detector probe produces a measurable amperometric current.
