Dual Syringe Method

The Dual Syringe Method is a bioengineering technique that combines two liquid formulations during delivery, enabling controlled mixing of otherwise separate components. Each syringe holds a distinct material, such as a polymer solution, crosslinker, or cell suspension; synchronized plungers drive the solutions through a connector or mixing pathway, where they blend and may undergo gelation or crosslinking. This approach supports reproducible preparation and administration of injectable hydrogels, cell-laden biomaterials, and other composite constructs. By separating reactive components until use, the method can improve handling, preserve material stability, and facilitate tissue engineering, drug delivery, and regenerative medicine research.

(2022)This video demonstrates a syringe-based pressure method for extracting apoplastic bacteria, which proliferate and form microcolonies within the apoplast, the intercellular space between plant cells. The method yields debris-free bacterial samples suitable for downstream single-cell analysis.

This protocol provides a reliable method to establish humanized mice with both human immune system and liver cells. Dual reconstituted immunodeficient mice achieved via intrasplenic injection of human hepatocytes and CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells are susceptible to human immunodeficiency virus-1 infection and recapitulate liver damage as observed in HIV-infected patients.

This video demonstrates the use of dual fluorescence imaging to evaluate the differentiation of oligodendrocytes from precursor cells (OPCs) isolated from a rat pup brain. The process includes fixing the cells, labeling specific markers with primary and fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies, and...
