Pc3 Cells

PC3 cells are a human prostate cancer cell line established from a bone metastasis and widely used to model advanced, androgen-independent disease in laboratory research. Their growth does not require androgen stimulation, and their low androgen receptor and prostate-specific antigen expression distinguishes them from hormone-responsive prostate cancer models; researchers maintain and manipulate the cells in culture to examine signaling, proliferation, migration, and invasion. In cancer research, PC3 cells support studies of metastatic progression, therapeutic resistance, and anticancer drug activity, including assays that test how genetic or pharmacological interventions affect tumor-associated behaviors.

2025

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are critical for the study of cancer progression and metastasis. This article presents a high-throughput, integrated protocol for CTC enrichment and single-CTC sequencing, improving capture efficiency and CTC purity while reducing contamination and sequencing costs, thereby advancing precision oncology research and clinical applications.

This protocol details the derivation of transplantable hematopoietic stem cells from mouse embryonic stem cells (ESC) and their subsequent injection into lethally irradiated recipient mice. Briefly, ESC are differentiated as embryoid bodies, which are then infected with retroviral HoxB4 and co-cultured with OP9 stromal cells and hematopoietic cytokines.

Metaphase to anaphase transition is triggered through anaphase-promoting complex (APC/C)-dependent ubiquitination and subsequent destruction of cyclin B. Here, we established a system which, following pulse-chase labeling, allows monitoring cyclin B proteolysis in entire cell populations and facilitates the detection of interference by the mitotic checkpoint.
