Villus Height Analysis

Villus height analysis is a histological method for measuring the length of intestinal villi, the finger-like projections that increase the absorptive surface of the mucosa. Researchers typically examine stained tissue sections under a microscope, identify villus boundaries, and quantify height from the villus tip to its junction with the crypt region, often across multiple structures to assess tissue architecture. In cancer research, these measurements help characterize mucosal remodeling associated with intestinal tumors, disease progression, or treatment responses. Changes in villus height can indicate altered epithelial organization and provide a quantitative outcome for studies of tumor biology, gastrointestinal toxicity, and therapeutic efficacy.

Here, we present a novel protocol to measure positional stability at key events during the sit-to-stand-to-walk using the center-of-pressure to the whole-body-center-of-mass distance. This was derived from the force platform and three-dimensional motion-capture technology. The paradigm is reliable and can be utilized for the assessment of neurologically compromised individuals.

2020

Dimensional analysis, also known as the factor label method, is a versatile approach for mathematical operations. The main principle behind this approach is: the units of quantities must be subjected to the same mathematical operations as their associated numbers. This method can be applied to computations ranging from simple unit conversions to more complex and multi-step calculations involving several different quantities and their units. Conversion Factors and Dimensional Analysis The unit...
