Root Infection Analysis

Root infection analysis is the systematic study of how infectious agents colonize roots and how genetic variation in hosts and pathogens shapes that interaction. In genetics, researchers compare DNA sequences, genetic markers, or gene-expression patterns to identify the infecting organism and trace molecular changes linked to invasion, recognition, and host defense. The analysis can reveal genes associated with susceptibility or resistance, clarify relationships between pathogen strains and affected plants, and support disease diagnosis. These findings inform breeding for resistant varieties, improve understanding of plant-microbe interactions, and guide strategies for managing infections that reduce root function and crop productivity.
