Web Scraping

Web scraping is the automated collection of information from websites, converting publicly accessible web content into structured data for analysis and engineering workflows. A scraper sends requests to web servers, retrieves HTML or other page resources, and uses parsing rules, selectors, or application programming interfaces to extract targeted text, links, tables, or metadata; scheduled jobs can then clean and store the results. Engineers apply web scraping to monitor product specifications, track prices, assemble datasets, support market and technical research, and feed software systems with frequently updated information. Responsible implementations respect website terms, access controls, privacy requirements, and request-rate limits.
