Patient Igg Testing

Patient IgG testing measures immunoglobulin G, the most abundant antibody class in blood, to assess humoral immune status and support evaluation of infection or immune dysfunction. In laboratory assays, patient serum is analyzed for IgG that binds selected antigens, allowing its concentration or antigen-specific reactivity to be compared with established reference values. Clinicians use total or pathogen-specific IgG results alongside symptoms, medical history, and other laboratory findings to investigate immune deficiency, previous exposure, or response to vaccination. In immunology and infection research, these measurements help characterize antibody-mediated protection and guide further diagnostic testing.

2015

Synthesis of human monoclonal antibodies is the first step in studies aimed at unraveling the pathophysiological mechanisms of auto-antibody-mediated immune responses. We have developed a protocol to generate recombinant human immunoglobulin G (IgG) monoclonal antibodies from blood sorted B cells, including B-cell isolation, antibody cloning and in vitro synthesis.

COVID-19 Seroprevalence Test for IgG Antibody Levels Among Healthy Donors Across Different Pandemic Phases in Jeddah

2025

This study assessed COVID-19 seroprevalence in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, among healthy blood donors across pre-lockdown, during-lockdown, and post-lockdown periods. Of 3,825 samples, 4.5% tested positive for IgG antibodies. Seroprevalence increased significantly post-lockdown, highlighting the role of asymptomatic transmission and the effectiveness of initial restrictions.

Profiling Anti-Neu5Gc IgG in Human Sera with a Sialoglycan Microarray Assay

2016

We describe here a method to generate customizable antigen microarrays that can be used for the simultaneous detection of serum IgG and IgM autoantibodies from humans and mice. These arrays allow for high-throughput and quantitative detection of antibodies against any antigens or epitopes of interest.

Transcytosis of IgG

2023

Transcytosis is the process in which molecules are internalized by endocytosis, transported across the cell, and released through exocytosis from the opposite end of the cell. Molecules such as insulin, immunoglobulins, and certain nutrients are transferred through the recycling endosomes by recycling and transcytosis. IgG molecules from a mother undergo transcytosis starting around 13 weeks of gestation. The amount of IgG transferred and entering the fetal blood circulation increases with...
