Bone Model Preparation

Bone model preparation is the process of preparing real bone specimens or anatomical replicas for medical education, research, and clinical training. Depending on the intended use, the process may involve collecting and cleaning bone, removing soft tissue, preserving or stabilizing the specimen, and shaping or assembling components to represent normal or pathological anatomy. Prepared models provide durable, three-dimensional resources for studying skeletal structure, practicing procedures, planning interventions, and communicating anatomical findings. Consistent preparation improves model quality and safety while supporting accurate interpretation of bone morphology, biomechanics, injury patterns, and disease-related changes.
