Dense Fine Speckled 70

Dense Fine Speckled 70 (DFS70) is an antinuclear antibody pattern identified by indirect immunofluorescence and associated with antibodies against the lens epithelium-derived growth factor p75, also called LEDGF/p75. These antibodies produce dense, fine speckles across interphase nuclei and stain chromatin on condensed chromosomes, creating the characteristic DFS70 pattern in cultured cells. In immunology and infection research, recognizing DFS70 supports interpretation of positive antinuclear antibody tests and helps distinguish isolated anti-DFS70 reactivity from patterns more commonly linked to systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease. Accurate identification can improve diagnostic evaluation, guide follow-up testing, and reduce misinterpretation of nonspecific nuclear staining.

Dense Connective Tissue

Dense connective tissue contains more collagen fibers than loose connective tissue. As a consequence, it displays greater resistance to stretching. There are two major categories of dense connective tissue— regular and irregular. Dense Regular Connective Tissue In dense regular connective tissue, fibers are arranged parallel to each other, enhancing its tensile strength and resistance to stretching in the direction of the fiber orientations. Ligaments and tendons are made of dense regular...

Fineness of Cement

2024

The fineness of cement directly influences the rate of hydration, as the hydration begins at the surface of the cement particles. In addition to hydration, the fineness of cement is vital for various properties of concrete including workability, gypsum requirement, and long-term behavior. The fineness of cement is represented in terms of the specific surface of cement which is typically measured in square meters per kilogram, with several methods available for this determination. Direct...
