Parietal Lobe

The parietal lobe is a region of the cerebral cortex that integrates sensory information and supports spatial awareness, attention, and goal-directed behavior. It processes signals from the skin, muscles, and joints, combining touch, proprioception, and visual information to construct an internal representation of the body and its surroundings; interactions with other brain regions also help guide movement and coordinate perception with action. In psychology, studying the parietal lobe helps explain attention, numerical reasoning, spatial cognition, body representation, and the effects of brain injury, including neglect and difficulties identifying or using objects. Its functions provide a foundation for understanding how the brain organizes behavior and conscious experience.

The cerebral cortex, a critical structure of the brain, is intricately divided into two hemispheres, each consisting of four distinct lobes: occipital, temporal, frontal, and parietal. These lobes function cooperatively to regulate various cognitive and sensory functions, forming the basis of our complex neural capabilities. Frontal lobe The frontal lobes, located behind the forehead, are the command center of our brain, controlling personality, intelligence, and voluntary muscle movements.
