Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common cancer in children and is characterized by rapid proliferation of immature white blood cells. The prognosis for some subtypes and following relapse remains dismal, despite improvements in ALL outcomes. Small animal models recapitulating features of ALL have been used to study ALL genetics, screen for novel targeted agents, and establish new imaging methods to evaluate disease. These small animal models have primarily utilized mice or zebrafish, and generated ALL through transgenic, transduction and transplantation, or xenograft-driven approaches.
We are seeking research to create or use small animal models of ALL for this collection. Research can center around therapeutic targets and development, genetics and ALL propensity, drug response, interactions with the microenvironment, and methods to quantify and identify ALL burden. This will offer an invaluable source of fresh approaches to characterizing and treating ALL.
