Anti-cd107a Fab

Anti-CD107a Fab is an antigen-binding antibody fragment used to monitor cellular degranulation, a key immune effector response in immunology and infection research. It binds CD107a, a lysosome-associated membrane protein that becomes exposed on the plasma membrane when cytotoxic lymphocytes or other degranulating cells fuse intracellular secretory granules with the cell surface. Detecting this transient surface CD107a signal provides a readout of granule exocytosis and helps assess the functional activity of natural killer cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes after stimulation or contact with target cells. The approach supports studies of host defense, immune-cell function, and defects in cytotoxic responses.

2025

This video demonstrates an in vitro technique to study immune synapse formation between primary human T cells and supported lipid bilayers (SLB). T cell surface proteins interact with respective ligands immobilized on SLB to form an immune synapse, followed by the movement of lytic granules towards the synapse, which is visualized using fluorescence microscopy.
