Lymph Cannula Insertion

Lymph cannula insertion is a specialized technique for placing a small tube into a lymphatic vessel to collect lymph, making it possible to study fluid, immune cells, and signaling molecules transported through the lymphatic system. During the procedure, the vessel is exposed and carefully cannulated so lymph can flow into a collection system while tissue damage and leakage are minimized. In immunology and infection research, collected lymph supports analysis of leukocyte trafficking, cytokines, antibodies, and pathogen-associated responses. The technique provides access to dynamic immune information that complements blood and tissue measurements, helping clarify how immune signals move between tissues and lymphoid organs.
