Cell Line Organoids

Cell line organoids are three-dimensional, self-organizing cell cultures generated from established cell lines to model tissue structure and function under controlled laboratory conditions. When embedded in an extracellular matrix and exposed to defined growth factors and signaling conditions, the cells proliferate, differentiate, and assemble into structures that can include tissue-like layers or lumens. In cancer research, these models provide reproducible systems for studying tumor architecture, gene and signaling pathways, invasion, and treatment response. Their scalability supports drug screening and experimental comparison, while their greater structural complexity than conventional two-dimensional cultures helps connect molecular findings with tumor behavior in vivo.

2025

This video describes the preparation and cultivation of brain tumor organoids from single-cell suspension. Using a laminin-rich extracellular matrix as a scaffold and culture media for nutrients, cells are facilitated to multiply and self-organize within the organoid. Consequently, ex vivo organoids are generated, mimicking cellular diversity and the microenvironment of brain tumors.
