Ebus-guided Procedure

An EBUS-guided procedure, or endobronchial ultrasound-guided bronchoscopy, combines airway endoscopy with real-time ultrasound imaging to examine structures beyond the bronchial walls. During the procedure, an ultrasound-equipped bronchoscope visualizes mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes, while a fine needle passes through the airway wall to collect tissue or fluid for analysis. In cancer research and clinical investigation, these samples support lung cancer diagnosis, staging, biomarker assessment, and evaluation of treatment response. EBUS-guided sampling provides access to deep thoracic targets through a minimally invasive approach, helping researchers study tumor biology while reducing the need for surgical biopsy in appropriate cases.
