Head Holder Fixation

Head holder fixation is a positioning method that stabilizes an animal’s head during precise experimental procedures, helping researchers obtain reproducible access and measurements in cancer research. It works by securing the skull in a rigid frame, commonly with supports such as ear bars and a bite bar, to limit movement and maintain a consistent anatomical position under anesthesia. This stability supports stereotaxic delivery of tumor cells or therapeutics, intracranial imaging, biopsy-related procedures, and localized irradiation in brain cancer models. Reliable fixation improves procedural accuracy, comparability across animals, and interpretation of treatment responses.
