Chen Zuobing, M.D., graduated from Zhejiang University in 2006 and became the Chief Physician of the Rehabilitation Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2012. He currently holds several leadership roles, including Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Chairman of the Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Disabled Persons' Federation, Director of the Rehabilitation Research Center of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Distinguished Researcher of the National High-end Think Tank of Zhejiang University, Doctoral Supervisor, and Member of the First Academic Committee of Zhijiang Science and Technology Think Tank. Dr. Chen has extensive experience in research. He has over 30 publications in journals, 8 monographs, and 6 patents. As Chief Physician of the Rehabilitation Department, he is interests in the rehabilitation of various clinical diseases, such as nervous system diseases (e.g. cerebrovascular accident, craniocerebral injury), bone and joint injuries (e.g. fracture, hand trauma, cervical spondylosis), and early recovery from multi-organ systemic diseases.

Li Haijun is a physical therapist, innovative talent at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University Medical College. He is a deputy director of the Rehabilitation Medical Research Center of Zhejiang University Medical College, a Executive Committee Member and Deputy Secretary General of the Rehabilitation Work Committee of the China Rehabilitation Medical Association, a member of the Zhejiang Provincial Expert Group for the Evaluation of the National Medical and Rehabilitation Integration Demonstration Project, a member of the Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medical Association. He served as editor in China’s elderly health management handbook 'Guide to combining medical care with rehabilitation', 'Occupational Therapy', 'Cardiopulmonary Disease Rehabilitation Treatment Technology'. He has a certification of 'Heart Lung Exercise Testing and Exercise Prescription' from the American Sports Medicine Association. He is proficient in exercise therapy, assessment and analysis of cardiopulmonary function, formulation, and training of exercise prescriptions.

Dr. Zhang has worked in clinical and research areas of rehabilitation medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University for 8 years and visited the University of Macau as a research scholar to study brain rehabilitation. She is currently an attending physician in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Her responsibilities include providing rehabilitation treatment plans for patients and guiding them through rehabilitation exercises. In addition, she is also committed to clinical and scientific research in rehabilitation medicine, exploring more effective rehabilitation methods to help patients recover faster.

Collection Overview

Stroke is a debilitating condition affecting millions worldwide, leading to physical and cognitive impairments that can significantly impact their daily lives. Rehabilitation treatment plays a critical role in stroke recovery, and new progress has been made in this field to optimize outcomes. These include a personalized rehabilitation treatment that considers individual needs, goals, and abilities and incorporates exercise prescription, physical therapy, and assistive technologies such as brain-computer interfaces and robotics. Additionally, innovative virtual reality and gaming technologies have been integrated into rehabilitation programs, enhancing motivation and engagement in therapy sessions. These approaches have shown promise in promoting recovery and improving functional outcomes in stroke patients.

This Methods Collection aims to present and evaluate the latest advances in rehabilitation treatment for stroke, including both traditional and innovative approaches. By highlighting new techniques and best practices, this collection will provide a valuable resource for clinicians and researchers working to improve the lives of those affected by these conditions.
