Vr Sickness Assessment

VR sickness assessment is the systematic evaluation of discomfort and behavioral responses that occur during or after virtual reality exposure. It typically measures symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, headache, eye strain, and disorientation using self-report questionnaires, behavioral observations, and, in some studies, physiological signals; these responses often arise when visual motion conflicts with vestibular and proprioceptive cues. In behavioral research, assessment helps determine how virtual environments influence attention, balance, movement, emotion, and task performance. Standardized measurements also guide the design of safer simulations, improve user comfort, and support comparisons across devices, applications, and exposure conditions.

2026

Here, we present a protocol to investigate the effects of immersive 360-degree virtual reality nature exposures on mood and embodiment. Participants experience forest and marine environments in seated and standing postures, with assessments using standardized scales to evaluate therapeutic outcomes for mental health interventions.

Here, we present a comprehensive behavioral test battery, including the novel tank, Shoaling, and social preference tests, to effectively determine the potential neurotoxic effects of chemicals (e.g., methamphetamine and glyphosate) on adult zebrafish using a single tank. This method is relevant to neurotoxicity and environmental research.

We developed a protocol to assess well-being in mice during procedures using general anesthesia. A series of behavioral parameters indicating levels of well-being as well as glucocorticoid metabolites were analyzed. The protocol can serve as a general aid to estimate the degree of severity in a scientific, animal-centered manner.
