Ct Guided Implant

CT-guided implant placement is an image-guided technique that uses computed tomography (CT) to plan and perform the positioning of an implant within anatomical structures. CT acquires cross-sectional X-ray images that are reconstructed into a three-dimensional view, allowing clinicians to assess tissue anatomy, select an insertion site, and align instruments along a planned trajectory. The approach supports precise placement in settings such as dental and orthopedic procedures, where implant position must respect bone, nerves, blood vessels, and other surrounding tissues. By linking biological anatomy with procedural planning, CT guidance can improve consistency, reduce avoidable tissue disruption, and support safer, more predictable outcomes.

2026

Implantation of a totally implantable venous access port (TIVAP) through the subclavian vein under CT guidance is a highly safe and precise method that can effectively reduce the incidence of complications and facilitate early detection of potential complications.

Ultrasound-Guided Implantation: A Technique to Implant Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cells into an Adult Mouse

2023

This video describes the protocol for ultrasound-guided orthotopic implantation of murine-derived pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells directly into the pancreas of the mouse. This causes less inflammation at the implantation site compared to surgical procedures.

CT-guided Preoperative Localization of Pulmonary Nodules Using a Glucose Test and Tissue Adhesive

This CT-guided protocol localizes ground-glass nodules preoperatively using tissue adhesive and a glucose test, which verifies needle placement and prevents airway injection-enhancing safety and distinguishing it from prior localization techniques.

Implantation and Monitoring by PET/CT of an Orthotopic Model of Human Pleural Mesothelioma in Athymic Mice

2019

This article describes the generation of an orthotopic mouse model of human pleural mesothelioma by implantation of H2052/484 mesothelioma cells into the pleural cavity of immunocompromised athymic mice. The longitudinal monitoring of the development of intrapleural tumors was assessed by non-invasive multimodal [18F]-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose positron emission tomography and computed tomography imaging.

Microelectrode Guided Implantation of Electrodes into the Subthalamic Nucleus of Rats for Long-term Deep Brain Stimulation

2015

A method for implanting electrodes into the subthalamic nucleus (STN) of rats is described. Better localization of the STN was achieved by using a microrecording system. Furthermore, a stimulation set-up is presented that is characterized by long-lasting connections between the head of the animal and the stimulator.
