Immunofluorescence Staining

Immunofluorescence staining is a microscopy-based method that uses fluorescently labeled antibodies to detect and visualize specific proteins or other targets in cells and tissues. The process relies on antibody-antigen binding: a primary antibody recognizes the target, while a fluorophore-conjugated primary or secondary antibody emits visible light after excitation at a defined wavelength. Researchers use immunofluorescence to determine protein localization, examine cell structure, and compare molecular changes across biological samples. By combining selective labeling with fluorescence microscopy, the technique provides spatial information that supports studies of cell biology, disease mechanisms, development, and tissue organization.
