Pcr Kit

A PCR kit is a collection of reagents and components used to amplify selected DNA sequences in vitro, making small amounts of genetic material easier to detect and analyze. During repeated cycles of denaturation, primer annealing, and extension, a thermostable DNA polymerase copies the target region using primers, nucleotides, magnesium ions, and reaction buffer; thermal cycling produces exponential amplification. In biology, PCR kits support genotyping, cloning, pathogen detection, mutation analysis, and gene expression studies when paired with reverse transcription. Standardized formulations improve reproducibility, while specialized kits can optimize amplification from challenging samples or enable quantitative DNA measurement.

Here we demonstrate the newly developed I•Cryo kit for mouse sperm cryopreservation. Two-cell stage embryo development with frozen-thawed sperm was improved consistently in 5 mouse strains with the use of this kit. Over a 1.5 year period, 49 genetically modified mouse lines were archived by sperm cryopreservation with the I•Cryo kit and later successfully recovered by IVF.
