Ecm Scaffold Preparation

ECM scaffold preparation is the process of creating a three-dimensional extracellular matrix (ECM) framework that preserves the structural and biochemical features of tissue for research and therapeutic use. In cancer research, tissues are commonly decellularized to remove cells and genetic material while retaining matrix components, architecture, and signaling cues; the resulting scaffold may then be cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for cell seeding. These scaffolds provide tumor cells with a physiologically relevant microenvironment for studying adhesion, invasion, growth, and treatment response. By modeling interactions between cancer cells and their surrounding matrix, ECM scaffolds can improve disease models and support investigations of tumor progression and therapeutic strategies.
